Welcome Back and Looking Ahead: Fr Steve shared his reflections on the work ahead in 2020.

Cabinet Retreat Follow-Up: In relation to Fr Steve’s comments, the Cabinet debriefed the Dec. 18 Cabinet retreat summarizing the strategic direction priorities; the work ahead in the financial repositioning; Leading Through Change: What recommendations can be made in order for the Cabinet in tangible ways be student-centric and accountable?

University Beyond Bars: Provost Shane Martin updated the Cabinet on a program called University Beyond Borders, a non-profit established in 2003 which facilitates AA degrees to prisoners at the Monroe Correctional Center. The Cabinet agreed that a leadership group should learn more about the program. Provost Martin will follow up.

Budget Advisory Group Update: CFO Wilson Garone provided the Cabinet a brief update on work of this group.

Updates:

  • Academic Affairs: Council of Academic Chairs met with 80-90 % of department chairs attending; this group will meet quarterly.
  • St Dev: Effective Jan. 13, new parameters will be established for those students seeking financial food insecurity support; the Food Pantry is open for students to use without limit.
  • ITS: the campus launched the new SU-Visitor Wi-Fi network.
