All new first-year students participate in our "Summer in Seattle" Orientation and Welcome Week to launch their educational careers at Seattle University. During Orientation, you will receive your first quarter class schedule, meet your Orientation Advisor, find out how to get involved on campus, learn about the special nature of a Jesuit education, meet your classmates and current students and HAVE FUN!

Orientation registration is available for new students beginning on May 7th at 3pm PST via our online orientation Canvas Course. Students will be able to register their family members or guests who wish to attend at the time that they register for their Summer in Seattle Orientation.

What should I do if I can't attend?

Students absolutely unable to attend any of these sessions should contact us at We will help place you in a makeup orientation prior to the start of the Fall Quarter. You are however, still expected to complete the Canvas Course as soon as possible.

 What will it cost?

All first-year students are charged a one-time $260 orientation fee as part of their Fall Quarter tuition bill.  This fee covers some of the cost associated with Summer in Seattle and Welcome Week. No upfront registration money is due for the student.  The family fee of $75 per person will be paid prior to the Summer in Seattle session and is payable via the registration site.
