Welcome Workshop

Welcome Workshop

A message from The International Student Center

Hello New International Students,

We are writing to congratulate you on your acceptance to Seattle University and share information about our mandatory International Student Welcome Workshop. The purpose of attending this workshop is to introduce you to services at the International Student Center (ISC), assist you in managing your student immigration status, and inform you about international student health insurance. You will also get a chance to meet other international students at the workshop, and get to know more about SU campus! In conjunction with the in-person welcome workshop, students are also required to complete an online orientation Canvas course.

Whether you are a new undergraduate student, new graduate student, or new transfer student, receiving this information is important to your success at SU. In order to travel outside the United States with your Seattle University Form I-20 after classes begin, you will need to complete the entire Canvas course and attend the in-person welcome workshop.

Please plan your arrival to Seattle accordingly to be able to attend the mandatory session for either undergraduate or graduate students. Once the orientation Canvas course has been published, you will receive an email to join through your Seattle University email.

Undergraduate International Students: Wednesday, Sep 13, 1:00pm-4:00pm - Boeing Room

Graduate International Students: Friday, Sep 15, 2023, 1:00pm-4:30pm - Campion Ballroom

Mandatory Immunizations for Undergraduates

Seattle University requires all undergraduate students to provide documentation that they have had Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), a Tetanus booster, and the Hepatitis B series. Please enter your mandatory immunization records on the Student Health Center Online Patient Portal. Once you enter your records, send the Student Health Center a hard copy for verification. Graduate students do not need to provide immunization documents.

Housing at Seattle University

Housing on campus is available but limited, so we recommend applying as early as possible. Only first year and second year undergraduate students are required to live on campus and are guaranteed housing. More information about on campus housing and the application process can be found on the Housing and Residence Life website. If you are looking for off campus housing, please check out the ISC website’s Housing tab.

Final Message to New International Students

We are looking forward to meeting you! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the International Student Center at isc@seattleu.edu.

Welcome to the Seattle University family! GO REDHAWKS!
