The Office of Institutional Equity

Welcome to the Office of Institutional Equity at Seattle University.

The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE), in support of the university's efforts to promote and maintain an equitable and safe learning, living, and working environment, oversees and coordinates the university's response to concerns about protected class discrimination and harassment, sexual misconduct, and related retaliation; and partners with other key campus resources to ensure that the university's related policies, procedures, support, and assistance are effective, fair to all involved, and consistent with the university's mission and values. 

WHO WE SERVE:

We are a centralized resource available to all students, faculty and staff

WHAT WE DO:

  • Respond to complaints of protected class discrimination and harassment, sexual misconduct, and related retaliation
  • Provide university assistance, including academic and work accommodations, housing modifications, and no communication orders
  • Provide consultation and training related to policies on protected class discrimination and harassment, sexual misconduct, and related retaliation
  • Partner across campus in related prevention efforts
