Strategic Plan Draft Review: The Cabinet reviewed the most recent draft of the strategic plan, vision and goals. Discussion followed. The Strategic Plan Steering Committee is looking forward to sharing the plan with the campus community.

Campus Communications: Scott McClellan and Mike Thee spoke with the Cabinet about how messages and announcements are currently shared with the campus. Discussion followed about being intentional about what messages and announcements to include in in the twice-weekly Campus Announcements platform. Cabinet members felt it was important to continue to be able to share important communications from their respective offices.

LinkedIn Learning: Michelle Clements reviewed LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com), an online platform for faculty and staff to develop skills in business, creativity and technology.

Murdock Charitable Trust Meeting: Fr Steve, Shane Martin and Wilson Garone shared briefly from the two-day meeting they attended with eight other institutions. The focus of the meeting was the challenges facing higher ed institutions in the Pacific Northwest. Of significance, was the data set provided each school. The Cabinet and Deans meeting on October 7 will focus on the data sets that highlight how SU is similar and how it differs from like institutions.

NACAC Meeting Debrief: Melore Nielsen debriefed the Cabinet on the NACAC meeting she attended. In advance of the national meeting, AJCU enrollment leaders met.

Updates: The Involvement Fair is from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Cabinet members are encouraged to stop by. The Mass of the Holy Spirit is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The university’s updated dog policy is in place, asking owners to keep their dogs on a leash. The Provost updated the Cabinet on an organizational change with his office. The transition of Faculty Services to HR is complete. A D & I workshop on Race in the Classroom is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4.
