Resident Assistant - 2022-2023

Position Summary

The Resident Assistant (RA) position exists to assist in the facilitation of a healthy, engaging, and educational residential experience. The RA will work cooperatively as a member of a residence hall staff and assist the Area Coordinator (AC) and Assistant Area Coordinator(s) (AAC) by creating opportunities and providing services that celebrate inclusion and foster student learning.

The RA is a member of Housing and Residence Life and reports directly to an AC/AAC. RAs receive a single room and a meal plan for compensation.

There are many aspects of the RA position, the 4 main areas are Student Leader; Community Development; Documentation and Emergency Response; and Administration. We look forward to talking with you more about the position and how you can be a part of our team.

To qualify for the RA position, you must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student for the full academic year
  • Maintain a cumulative and quarterly GPA of 2.5 or above
  • Applicants must be in good academic and conduct standing with Seattle University

 

Info Sessions

Interested candidates must attend one of the Info Sessions listed below:

  • Monday, November 15th, from 2PM to 3PM in Sinegal 110
  • Wednesday, November 17th, from 8PM to 9PM, in each residence hall 
  • Thursday, November 18th, from 11Am to 12PM in Sinegal 110
  • Tuesday, November 30th, from 1PM to 2PM via zoom (https://seattleu.zoom.us/j/96007026797)
  • Tuesday, January 4th, from 1PM to 2PM, in Student Center 210
  • Wednesday, January 5th, from 8PM to 9PM, in each residence hall 

RA Selection Process Timeline

The following is the projected selection process timeline. 

  • 11/16/21 - Application goes live on the Handshake
  • multiple dates and time - RA Info Sessions
  • 1/7/21 - Application closes at 11:59 pm
  • 1/24/22-1/28/22 - RA individual interview
  • 2/5/22 - RA group Interview
  • 3/25/22- RA offer letters sent
  • 4/1/22 - Deadline to accept/decline position
