Provost's Faculty Awards

Celebrating our Professoriate

This year marks a new chapter for supporting and celebrating faculty scholarship. Guided by President Eduardo M. Peñalver’s initiative in “Reigniting Our Strategic Directions,” Provost Shane P. Martin is dedicating 2022 to amplifying the recognition of the academic accomplishments of our professoriate. In the coming months, we will provide regular updates on initiatives and opportunities for enhancing faculty scholarship. As we close out 2021, we invite you to nominate individuals for the Provost’s Faculty Awards.

We are pleased to announce a call for nominations for six awards that recognize outstanding faculty contributions to Seattle University:

Candidates may be nominated by students, faculty, staff, or they may self-nominate. Nominations for one individual from multiple nominators (e.g., across departments, between schools/colleges,) are welcome. All faculty who have been at SU for at least three years, are eligible. The award recipients will be recognized at a Spring Convocation, and each will receive a plaque and a $2,000 honorarium.

Award criteria, nomination requirements and application checklists are located here. Applications are due to the Awards Committee by March 25, 2022. Completed applications should be emailed to Macheddie Baker. Ms. Baker will send a confirmation email that the completed application has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please reach out to Ms. Baker. All documents will be kept on a secure platform.
