An overview of the Factbook, its connection to Seattle University, a breakdown of sections, and download links.
Every year during the fall quarter, the Office of Institutional Research produces official statistics after enrollment data has been finalized. Not only are these official statistics required for federal reporting and surveys, such as IPEDS and the Common Data Set (CDS), they are also published in a series of reports for the Factbook which is made available to the general republic, as well as to our SU faculty, students and staff.
Reports within the Factbook focus on enrollment data for both students entering Seattle University - freshman, new students, and new transfers, as well as our current undergraduates. Data is further defined by identifying characteristics such as demographics, admissions selectivity, and state of residence or country of origin.
There are several ways faculty and staff access data to support the work of the university. In addition to the Common Data Set (CDS), many campus offices use the reports from the Factbook when applying for grants and applications, completing external surveys, or producing marketing materials and website content. The Factbook reports are a published resource of official statistics that are easily available, can be shared publicly, and can address many commonly asked questions.
The Factbook is broken into the following sections.
