The Facebook cover image is, essentially, an advertising and storytelling space for your area. Cover images can serve several purposes:

In order to support our university community in telling SU’s story in our brand, Marcom has created a series of templates for use by departments, offices, clubs and organizations. These templates offer imagery, space for event promotions and information, etc. Feel free to use these templates to create a cover image for your area. If you have questions or would like assistance, contact Eli Christopher in Marcom.
Marcom will continue to provide more options for branded templates over time.
Not every department or area has the bandwidth to create cover images or work with templates. As such, we have selected and pre-cropped images from our library of branded photography for your use. Please choose images that make sense with your area (ex: don’t choose an image of the chapel to represent an intramural sports team).
As always, members of the university community are welcome to select their own branded imagery from Photoshelter and crop them for Facebook.
