Earn College Credit in High School

For more than 30 years, Seattle University has offered college courses in local Catholic High Schools through the Concurrent Enrollment Program. College-level courses in a variety of subjects are taught by high school instructors, in collaboration with Seattle University faculty. Some courses are taught or co-taught by a Seattle U professor.

Students who have registered at Seattle U and successfully complete their course(s) will earn college credits. These credits are made available at a highly discounted rate through the Concurrent Enrollment Program and are accepted by most colleges and universities, which may both shorten the time to earn an undergraduate degree as well as reduce the overall cost of attending college.

Humanities 1910 Global Citizenship 

Students at select Jesuit high schools have the opportunity to participate in an asynchronous online course taught by Serena Cosgrove, PhD, Professor of International Studies at Seattle University. This course is designed to deepen and expand students’ understanding of global citizenship, inspired by the global Jesuit network.  

The fee for this course is $475, and registration will open in early 2027.  

This pilot program is not open enrollment. Please contact your school guidance counselor for details.

Registration

Students start the registration process by enrolling in the course(s) offered at their high school. Enrolled students are invited to create an account and register for Seattle U credits via email at the start of the term.

Registration for Fall 2026 opens September 3 and closes September 23. Spring registration will open in February 2027. After the registration deadline, there is no late course add option.

Payment

Courses are $425 at the time of registration.

Families may use their GET account to pay for these courses. To coordinate payment with GET funds, contact matteoricci@seattleu.edu.

State and federal financial aid cannot be used for college courses taken in high school. Taking college courses in high school has no impact on financial aid when enrolling in college after high school.

Transcripts

Students who have earned credits through Matteo Ricci Concurrent Enrollment courses have a Seattle U transcript. When transferring credits, an official transcript must be provided. 

Seattle U final grades are posted on July 1; to ensure your transcript shows your grades and credits earned, transcript orders should be placed after July 1. 

Concurrent Enrollment students should select the 'Seattle University- First Hill Campus' and follow the link to National Student Clearinghouse ordering service. All transcript requests are fulfilled through Clearinghouse.
