Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning at Seattle University are rooted in the Jesuit educational tradition, which emphasizes critical thinking, reflection and the formation of the whole person. In the classroom, AI is understood as a tool that can support learning, inquiry and creativity, but not replace the human relationships, lived experience and values-driven discernment at the heart of our educational model. Seattle University prepares students to engage AI thoughtfully by learning not only how to use AI tools, but how to question their outputs, evaluate their limits and understand how knowledge and truth are generated and formed. Through this human-centered approach, faculty and students can explore AI in ways that deepen learning and support the university’s educational mission.

AI And Your Degree

AI learning is integrated across disciplines at Seattle University and two new graduate-level programs reflect our continued commitment to expanding innovative, career-relevant pathways for learners at every level. In addition, undergraduate students learn the foundational skills of AI literacy as part of our integrated University Core Curriculum, where we prepare learners to respond to some of the most urgent challenges of our time, including the effects of rapid changes in technology.

The Online Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program empowers students to address rapidly growing demand for AI expertise. Graduates are prepared for specialized AI roles in a dynamic tech industry through advanced technical training and innovative problem-solving.
