AI in the Core

Seattle University’s educational approach emphasizes critical thinking, discernment, reflection, and care for the whole person. We believe that our University Core, the heart of our undergraduate education, is a foundational place to introduce students to the critical conversations, ethical dilemmas, challenges and opportunities of Artificial Intelligence.

As we prepare students to be leaders in their fields, people for and with others, committed to living with excellence and to the promotion of justice, we recognize that technological literacy is essential in a fast-changing world. Students should learn not only how to use AI, but how to question it, evaluate it, and apply it in service of others. To that end, the University Core offers students a foundation in AI literacy.
