What This Means For You
For students who study in academic year 2026-2027 or before, you will follow the current Core Curriculum plan of study for now. Once the academic year 2027-2028 starts and the university has transitioned to semesters, you will finish taking any remaining Core courses in the new Core Curriculum.
You will not need to take any additional Core courses to graduate. To determine what you need to take, you will develop an individualized plan of study with your academic advisor.

The 60-credit University Core Curriculum consists of a total of 12 courses plus a major-specific capstone course (with a minimum of 3 credits).
Your Core classes have been designed by talented and dedicated faculty members who use their expertise to shape the content of each class, and who organize that content around some of the most pressing and thought-provoking questions in their disciplines. Each class invites students to actively participate in the dialogues produced by such questions - sharpening your capacity to read critically, write carefully, and express ideas effectively.
