Health Insurance

A message from the International Student Center Team

Dear Seattle University International Student,

We would like to inform you about Seattle University’s international student insurance provider - Wells Fargo. As you may know, each year you are automatically enrolled in SU’s Wells Fargo insurance plan.

If you are hoping to utilize your own personal insurance plan this year you will need to waive out of the Wells Fargo policy (even if you waived out last year, you will need to waive out again this year). Please note, even if you are on a sponsored program, or your government is paying for your insurance, you still need to fill out the waiver form.

Waiving Your Insurance Plan:

In order to waive out of the new SU insurance program you will need to fill out the online waiver form at:

Any questions about the waiver can be directed to Wells Fargo Customer Care Line at 800-853-5899.

The last date you can submit the online waiver form for Fall is set for September 31, 2017.

If you choose to waive, your policy must include:

  • Primary Care & Emergency Services within a 25 mile radius of Seattle University
  • coverage for Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Health benefits & prescription drug coverage
  • maximum annual benefit maximum that is unlimited per accident or illness
  • annual deductible not to exceed $100 per accident or illness
  • repatriation of remains coverage in the amount of $25,000
  • coverage for medical evacuation to your home country in the amount of $25,000

Again, please feel free to contact the Wells Fargo Customer Care Line with any questions.

Warmly,

The ISC.
