School Certifying Officials (SCOs)

School Certifying Officials (SCO) are Seattle University staff.  Are the liaisons between Seattle University and the VA.  They make sure students appropriately certified to receive their VA educational benefits.  The SCO’s receive regular training and updates from the VA and are advocates for their students.  If you have questions about your benefits or need assistance please contact the SCO’s at va@seattleu.edu

Kristina Kelyn is a Financial Aid Counselor and Veteran’s School Certifying Official who joined Seattle University in 2015. Ms. Kelyn has worked in financial aid since 2002, both in Southern California and Washington State. As a financial aid counselor, she assists students and families in the financial aid process. She earned her BA in Psychology from Western Washington University, and her MA in Public Policy from the University of Washington, Bothell campus. Her favorite aspect of her job is to help students achieve their academic goals.

Jenna Sanders is the Veteran and Athletics Certifying Official in the Office of the Registrar and Operations. She has lived in the Seattle area her whole life, growing up in Redmond on the Eastside and living in Seattle since moving for her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. With a B.A. in Economics and Law, Societies & Justice, she worked as a paralegal until she returned to the world of higher education at Seattle University in November 2016. She thoroughly enjoys working with Seattle U’s veteran and student-athlete populations to help them achieve their goals at the University and beyond. Go Redhawks!
