Content Refresh Final Call

October 18, 2023

Prepare Your Content for the New Site

The website is being rebuilt from the ground-up, which offers the university an excellent opportunity to rethink how content is presented on the new site.

To prepare for the new site, we asked every office and department to help us with the task of creating their landing page (what we’re calling a “Department Detail Page”), as well as creating any sub-pages that we need to retain on the external site.

When you open the SharePoint folder for your office or department, the following steps are recommended to review in the following order

  1. Watch/read through the short presentation, “Content Refresh Overview for Offices and Departments” for more specifics on the project request and how to get started.
  2. Watch the short videos, “Office and Departments Visual Design” and “Templates and Documents” to see a peek at what the new webpages and templates will look like.
  3. Review the mockup images for what an office/department detail page could look like.
  4. Review the content template documents, which you will use to create the content for your pages.
  5. Review the new sitemap structure to see how all offices/departments will live in a directory on the new site.
  6. Review your audit, which contains all the pages we have for your office on our current site (please note that recent additions or purges are not reflected here; this is more for planning purposes and you are free to modify the file as needed).

We originally asked every office and department on campus to please submit your content documents for your Office pages by Friday, September 1

The final extended deadline is now October 31. If you have not updated your content in the SharePoint folder by this date, we will migrate your existing content and you will not be able to refresh or update the content until after the website launch.

If you need support, this is the time to reach out. Please email Gaurav at gmandan@seattleu.edu.
