International Students

International students enrolled full-time with an F-1 or J-1 Visa are eligible to work in on-campus jobs for 20 hours per week (and up to 40 hours per week in scheduled academic breaks). International students with other Visa types should consult their advisor in the International Student Center (ISC) to verify work authorization.

Before beginning their job, international student employees must have a SEVIS record and a valid I-20. Incoming international students who will start their program in the Fall, should plan for a start date of no sooner than September 30 to ensure the SEVIS record is active when applying for an SSN - if you have questions about this or would like to inquire about an earlier start date, please contact your ISC Advisor.
