On Monday, April 1, the DPS office will re-open in their new space in the 1313 Columbia Building (CLMB), room 002.
Vehicle Rental Policy Change Effective Immediately 02/20/2018
Seattle University Public Safety and Transportation supports our campus community with van and other vehicle rental services, once a student or employee has completed the steps to become a university authorized driver. The university leases a fleet of nine (9) 12-passenger vans, which are rented through the Public Safety office, in support of academic and student programs. When community demand exceeds our van resources, we have partnered with Enterprise Rent-a-Car to coordinate additional rental vehicles. In the past, those vehicles have been picked up and dropped off at Public Safety, using the same process as our fleet vans. Enterprise has informed us that they will no longer be able to support our program by bringing vehicles to the Seattle University campus.
What does this mean for the campus community? If you need to make arrangements for an outside rental vehicle for a university-related program, please follow the same reservation steps you have in the past with Public Safety. We will complete the reservation with Enterprise and send you a confirmation. To pick up the Enterprise reserved vehicle, the confirmed authorized driver will now need to go to the Enterprise Capitol Hill office located at 1605 Boylston Ave. Seattle (Just North of Boylston and Pine St. by the Seattle Central parking garage). If you are dropping off an Enterprise vehicle during their business hours, Enterprise staff have advised they will provide you a ride back to campus. The Enterprise office is open Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM to pick up or drop off vehicles.
We will be looking at other transportation options to better support the Seattle University community, but in the meantime we want the community to know of this service change.
The university leases nine (9) 12-passenger vans at variable prices, these 12-passenger vans may be reserved by students, faculty, and staff for university business and activities. Other vehicles such as minivans, SUV's and passenger cars may be rented from Enterprise as needed (see above paragraphs).
All drivers must be authorized as a driver through Public Safety and Transportation.

* The safety of the Seattle University community members is of the utmost importance. University vehicle use will be restricted in hazardous weather conditions or if the vehicle will be traveling through an area that is forecast with hazardous conditions. Public Safety will make every effort to provide advance notification if a vehicle reservation will need to be canceled.
NOTICE: Seattle University vehicle rental prices will be increasing to $25 per day as of Fall Quarter 2018.
