Love to write? Want free concert or movie tickets? Become a KXSU reporter! Join a nationally recognized group of writers who are passionate about the arts and music scene in Seattle! Write about your interests all while creating a professional writing portfolio.

The KXSU Blog is located over at kxsu.org. We are a tight-knit group of about 20 reporters and editors who are passionate about arts, muisc, and journalism. What makes us special and different from other on campus writing opportunities is that you get complete control over what you want to write about. We never assign stories or force you to write about borning things. You get to choose what you're passionate about, so by the end of the year, you end up with a professional writing portfolio of work that you actually care about.

What sets us apart from other radio station websites is that we have worked hard over the past few years to cultivate close working relationships with almost every arts and music venue in Seattle, so that we can provide our reporters with free tickets to as many shows as possible. We are even lucky enough to get tickets to big music festivals like Sasquatch, Bumbershoot, and Capitol Hill Block Party.

In 2017, our team was one of five national finalists in the Intercollegiate Broadcaster Systems awards. This means that we are one of the five best radio reporting teams in the country! That's a huge deal! (We even got a trophy for it)

Joining our team is such an amazing opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. We often host socials for our team, and most of us actually hang out with each other outside of KXSU. We really all are best friends!

If this is enough to convince you to join, reach out to our Program Director emma@kxsu.org to learn more.
