School Psychology Assistant Professor Fainstein Awarded Fellowship

Dr. David Fainstein, assistant professor of school psychology in the College of Education, was awarded a Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) Research Fellowship. This two-year fellowship is a joint effort with Dr. Dennis Cisco-Taylor from Gonzaga University to research persistent and systemic problems of practice for allied professionals in schools.

Drs. Fainstein and Cisco-Taylor will conduct a state-level research project examining obstacles that school psychologist face in providing more comprehensive support systems. This fellowship includes being part of the inaugural cohort of PESB-supported scholarship through mentoring, collaborating and disseminating key research findings to improve practice towards equity in educational settings.
