Margaret Fisher, Distinguished Practitioner in Residence in the Law School, was awarded a grant from the City of Seattle’s Municipal Court, to lead and coordinate a Youth Traffic Court. The court has been in existence since 2012, when she established the first-ever Youth Traffic Court in Seattle, in cooperation with the Seattle Municipal Court, Garfield High School and the Seattle Police Department. SU law students participate as mentors to the Garfield High School students, and the court allows for the diversion of certain traffic infractions. More information on the pro-bono program can be found here.
