Congratulations to Dr. Amit Shukla, dean of the College of Science and Engineering, and Peter Rowan, executive director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Albers School of Business and Economics on their recent award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Enabling Partnerships to Increase Innovation Capacity (EPIIC) program.

The $2.4 million grant—$800,000 was awarded to SU—enables SU and four partnering institutions (Cal Poly-Humboldt, Saint Francis University, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and Utah Tech University) to work collaboratively in enhancing their institutions’ innovation ecosystems.

Funding from NSF’s EPIIC program, which is intended to support institutions in growing external partnerships, will substantially enhance the College of Science and Engineering’s capacity for engaging in the regional innovation economy and broadening participation in STEM the workforce.
