College of Arts and Sciences Assistant Professor Fade Eadeh and undergraduate student Josephine Whittock have received funding from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues to examine how white nationalist threats impact political ideology. The researchers, housed in the Department of Psychology, examine how threats from white nationalist groups play a role in increasing support for censoring hate speech.

Along with other preliminary evidence showing that political conservatives (vs. liberals) are most supportive of censoring hate speech following this threat, the authors' work will inform some avenues to isolate the hate groups.
