On Sept. 15, we remembered, mourned and reflected on the horrific bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., that took place 59 years ago. We remember Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson and Cynthia Wesley, the four young girls who were killed in the racially motivated attack.

On this anniversary, we are humbled to announce the new art installation in the Chapel of St. Ignatius of 10:22AM  by Hiawatha D. We invite SU community members to stop by the chapel to view the painting and reflect upon this significant moment in our nation’s history, and our call toward healing, reconciliation, equity and justice.
