By: Student Financial Services

With tax season approaching, Student Financial Services will be providing students and their families with the 2023 1098-T form. The 1098-T form will help inform their tax filing process. The form can be used by students, their families or their tax preparers to complete IRS Form 8863—the form used to calculate education tax credits that a taxpayer may claim as a part of their tax return.

The 1098-T will list the total amount of qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) that you paid during the tax or calendar year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2023), minus any refunds.

By Jan. 31, students will be notified of the 1098-T availability and able to access an electronic version and a downloadable version of the 1098-T forms at the Student Account Center on their mySeattleU account. To have 24/7 access to the 1098-T, please consent to receive electronic forms at the Student Account Center.
