This performance is both contemplative - performed without applause -  and interactive: the audience will sing several Taizé chants along with the choir between major sections. MEET ME HERE examines historical and contemporary innocents who have died, through the lens of the Passion of Christ. Alongside stories recounting the death of Jesus, the choirs will sing in memoriam of Matthew Shepard, Amadou Diallo, Joan of Arc, and victims of the October 2018 shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Included are selections from The Lark by Leonard Bernstein, “Amadou Diallo” from Seven Last Words of the Unarmed by Joel Thompson, and two movements from Craig Hella Johnson’s haunting and powerful new work, Considering Matthew Shepard. Please follow our social media pages for more detailed information about the compositions in this program leading up to the concert.

Admission is free.
