Chloe Rollens' Honors Exhibition
Opening Reception: May 18, 2023, 4:30 PM-7:30 PM
By utilizing metaphoric art (visual representations of parthenogenesis in nature compared to human anatomy) and self-portraiture, Brute Creation encapsulates works which are intended to be catalysts for promoting an understanding surrounding womanhood, reproductive possibilities, and the asexual experience. How these conventions interact with each other as well as our society is a conversation to be encouraged.
Audience members are invited to configure limbs as they see fit, further emphasizing the idea presented in Hydra I, that difference within procedural procreation is to be encouraged; and we should work to close gaps, “tie limbs together,” to create individual entities and encourage acceptance.
