UPDATE: Face Coverings Required Indoors for All Through Sept. 6

August 10, 2021

Seattle University is requiring that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask or face covering indoors on campus. The policy will remain in effect through Sept. 6, at which time we will reevaluate the requirement for those who are fully vaccinated.

The updated face covering policy follows further review and consideration by the Opening Task Force, including additional input from members of our campus community. The highly transmissible Delta variant remains a serious concern among public health officials with cases increasing nationally, in the state of Washington and in King County. Recent studies indicate the Delta variant can spread to others even by vaccinated individuals. King County is currently reporting high transmission levels; updated transmission levels are reported here.
