Face Coverings Strongly Recommended for All Indoors, Updated University Travel Policy

August 5, 2021

Face Coverings Strongly Recommended for All Indoors

Seattle University strongly recommends that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask or other face covering indoors in areas where they are not already required. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to wear a face covering indoors when on site per our university face covering policy.

This recommendation is an extension of last week’s update and consistent with public health guidance from the CDC, state of Washington and King County and will remain in effect until further notice.

The highly transmissible Delta variant is a serious concern among public health officials and recent studies indicate it can spread to others even by vaccinated individuals. The latest policy recommendations help maximize protection against the variant and help prevent spreading it to others.

NEW: Updated University Travel Policy

Effective August 5, 2021, per CDC guidance on domestic and international travel, Seattle University-related travel is permitted for fully vaccinated individuals. Read full policy here.

Safe Start Health Check Still in Effect

Through Sept. 6, all individuals regardless of vaccination status are required to take Seattle U’s Safe Start Health Check when on campus.
