COVID Testing
COVID-19 testing is one of the most effective tools we have for keeping our campus community healthy and safe. Please get tested:
- Weekly if you have received an approved vaccination exemption.
- When you are randomly selected for surveillance testing.
+If you have not been on campus for 14 days and will not be coming back to campus for the remainder of the fall quarter you do not need to participate in surveillance testing. If you meet these requirements you can receive an exemption from surveillance testing.
+ You do need to continue to participate in surveillance testing, even if you are away from campus for a few weeks or a month.
- If you have symptoms or are a close contact.
Testing is currently underway at the on-campus Curative kiosk at 1300 E. Columbia (closer to 14th Ave.). Thank you for your patience as Curative works to put in place a more seamless process for our campus community.

We are aware that there was a glitch in the Curative scheduling system for 24 hours. This has been resolved.
Don’t forget you can also use outside testing venues. Employees may elect to be tested during scheduled work hours.

Upcoming Deadline to Keep in Mind
October 18 is the deadline by which faculty, staff, contractors at vaccinated institutions of higher education are required to be fully vaccinated, as called for in Governor Inslee’s proclamation. The good news is nearly 100 percent of SU’s faculty and staff are registered as vaccinated.
If you have not yet done so, please upload documentation of your vaccination.

Important Reminders
- Complete your daily Safe Start Health Check screening before leaving your residence hall or coming to campus.
- Wear face coverings indoors and outdoors in crowds that number 500 or more people. (See SU’s up-to-date Face Covering Policy.)
- Report confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases to covid-19-report@seattleu.edu. If you are a close contact of someone who tests positive, our trained and experienced Public Safety response team will make sure you are notified. SU's COVID confirmed cases dashboard is updated in real-time.
- Get a flu shot to minimize additional burdens on our overloaded healthcare workers. Find a clinic near you.
