Mentors and students, what better combination is that? Well, maybe if pizza was added in it would have been better but that is hard to do in a virtual world! The ECE department hosted an online mentor evening on Wednesday October 20th. There were approximately seven mentors and about 25 students who attended. The major topic was "How to get a job in these trying times". The evening started off with a panel discussion moderated by the ECE's own great Andrew Koken! There were lots of good ideas presented and questions asked by the students. There were tips about how to deal with the virtual hiring environment, what to do if you are ghosted when applying, some unconventional methods for job hunting, and ways to get around the automated systems, just to mention a few.
Save the date! In winter quarter, February 3, 2022 from 6-9 pm will be our annual ECE Networking Night. This event will be in person with appetizers, speakers, 20 professionals from industry and small group sessions. We hope you will all plan to attend!
