Change of Major

The Albers School welcomes current Seattle University students interested in changing their major. Students intending to change their major into the Albers School are encouraged to schedule an appointment with an Albers advisor. Appointments can be scheduled through the Albers front desk in Pigott 318, by calling (206) 296-5700 or use the links on our main Advising page.

Students with SeattleU cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 will be admitted directly to any Albers major.

Students with SeattleU cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 3.49 will have to complete a calculus course (MATH 1130 or 1334 or equivalent) with at least a 1.7 (C minus) before declaring an Albers major. Students with a GPA less than 3.5 cannot declare Business Analytics or Business & Law.

Additional notes:

  • Students must wait to transfer into Albers until they complete their first quarter and have a SeattleU cumulative GPA.
  • Students who are working towards admittance to Albers can enroll in Albers 2000-level business foundation courses: ACCT 2300, ACCT 2310, ECON 2100, ECON 2110, ECON 2130. These courses are open to all students who have earned at least 30 credits. These courses are not required for admittance to Albers, but they are recommended if students intend to transfer to Albers and need classes to take until they can officially change majors. Students can take BCOM 2800 once they are admitted to Albers.
