India Center Scholars

As part of our key goal to give back to India and the United States, the Center sponsors scholarships to deserving students from India to pursue a world class graduate education at Seattle University. Students can apply for a full tuition scholarship to master programs including Master of Laws, Master of Business Administration, or Master of Science. The program removes barriers for students who show promise of becoming the next generation of pioneering change-makers.

Deepti Shinde

The inaugural Mehta Wahi LLM Scholar, Deepti Shinde, is a first-generation lawyer and legal technology innovator from Bhopal, India, and a graduate of National Law University, Jodhpur through the IDIA program. She begins LLM studies in Fall 2025 and is dedicated to using technology to expand access to justice across South Asia.

Ruman Sidhu

Ruman Sidhu is pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science with a strong interest in artificial intelligence and building meaningful healthcare applications that create real impact. She previously completed her undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Tanveer Kaur

An alumnus of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law in Patiala, Kaur graduated in December 2025 from the LLM program in the Technology and Innovation Law. This scholarship allowed Kaur to pursue graduate work with financial independence early on in her career. As of 2026, Ms. Kaur successfully passed the U.S. Bar Exam.

Ashok Kumar

Originally from Haliwav, India, Kumar attended law school with support and mentorship from IDIA, an organization that empowers underprivileged and marginalized communities by creating top quality lawyers from within India. He graduated with an LLM specializing in Technology and Innovation Law in May 2024 and successfully passed the U.S. Bar Exam.
