Dr. Agnieszka Miguel is Professor and Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seattle University, where she holds the Francis P. Wood Chair. She serves as the 2026-27 President of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and previously served as President of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA). She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and her bachelor's and master's degrees from Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Miguel's research interests include image processing, machine learning, and engineering education, with an emphasis on student engagement, mentoring, and broadening participation. Her recent research applies image processing methods to wildlife identification. She leads iREDEFINE, an NSF-supported workshop preparing doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars for faculty careers, and is principal investigator of the $800,000 Inclusive Mentoring Hubs initiative, which provides sustained mentoring through the academic job search and transition into faculty positions.

An ASEE Fellow, Dr. Miguel has received the ECEDHA Diversity Award and the ASEE Electrical and Computer Engineering Division's Distinguished Educator Award. Throughout her career, she has worked to build supportive academic communities and expand opportunities for women and others underrepresented in engineering.
