Graduate Ceremony begins at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets

Graduating students may initially reserve up to 12 guest tickets. The 2024 Commencement Portal will open April 2 to claim guest tickets. Guest tickets must be claimed by graduates no later than May 15. Requests for additional guest tickets will be accepted on the portal starting April 2. Distribution of additional guest tickets will begin on May 16, based on availability.

  • Graduating students do not require a guest ticket.
  • All guests age 3 and above will require a guest ticket.
  • There is no cost associated with a guest ticket.

A livestream of the event will be available on the 2024 Commencement website for those guests who are unable to attend in-person.

Distribute/Print

Graduating students must log into the Commencement Portal to access all guest tickets. Click on the Print/Email Guest Tickets button to email/print guest tickets. Tickets may be emailed to guests and be displayed on a mobile device or printed for entry into the venue.

Visa Letter for Commencement Ceremony

If you have guests from outside the United States requiring a travel visa letter, please follow the instructions below.

  • International students should complete the Letter Request. Please contact International Student Center (ISC) with questions at (206) 296-6260 or isc@seattleu.edu.

  • Domestic students should complete the Special Request Form (e-form) and select the I need a letter stating the following check box and indicate you are requesting a travel visa letter and include guest's full name and relationship to you. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at (206) 220-8030 or commencement@seattleu.edu if you need assistance.

Guest Entry

Ceremony Doors Start
Undergraduate Ceremony 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m.
Graduate Ceremony 4:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m.

Arrive early to park, walk, and enter the arena before the ceremony starts. Climate Pledge Arena doors open to ticketed guests an hour prior to the ceremony start. Guests enter the arena through entrances 1, 8, 10, 11. Each entrance has an accessible entry point to help guests needing additional assistance.

Please make sure your graduate has provided you with your tickets prior to arriving to the ceremony. Tickets may be displayed on a mobile device or printed for entry into the venue.

Climate Pledge Arena security protocols require that you be screened prior to entry. Please follow the instructions here and do not bring any prohibited items.

Seating

Seating at the Climate Pledge Arena is General Admission and is first come, first served. Please only occupy the number of seats for which you have tickets to ensure all guests are provided with access to seating.

Guests requiring additional assistance due to limited mobility should notify the Climate Pledge Arena Guest Services member at the entry door for assistance with a wheelchair transport and guidance to accessible seating. Climate Pledge Arena offers wheelchair accessible and low mobility seating on each level of the venue on a first come, first served basis.

Concessions

No outside food or beverages are allowed in Climate Pledge Arena. For convenience, Climate Pledge Arena will have Just Walk Out (JWO) stores with snack and drinks for guests and some concession stands available. Climate Pledge Arena is a cashless facility. Amazon One, JWO technology, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major credit cards are accepted.

Photographs

Guests must remain in the stands - the floor is for graduating students, faculty, and staff only. Photographers will provide close up photo coverage which will be available through GradImages 1-2 weeks after the event. Families and friends may take pictures with graduates outside the arena after the ceremony.

GradImages is the official photographer for our Commencement. Graduates at Seattle University can locate their graduation photos online by visiting http://www.gradimages.com/seattleuniversity

The following two pieces of information are required to access their account:

  • Last Name of the graduate
  • Graduation Year

Livestream

livestream of the ceremony will be available on the Commencement 2024 website on the day of the event and archived on the Commencement 2024 website and Seattle University YouTube channel following the event. This is a wonderful alternative for guests who are not able to attend in person.
