Education Abroad for Cornish Students

Cornish students now have access to a wide range of global learning opportunities through Seattle University's Education Abroad Office—including programs across six continents. Whether you're seeking immersive experiences in the arts, culture, design, performance, or interdisciplinary fields, there's a program to help expand your creative and academic horizons.

The Education Abroad Office (EAO) provides guidance in finding a program that best suits your academic and personal goals, as well as financial needs. Wondering how to get started?  You’ve come to the right place!

Student Journey

Module 1. Explore

Complete Education Abroad 101, a self-paced introduction to Education Abroad at SU. This must be complete before meeting with an Education Abroad Advisor.  Attend a small-group Planning Meeting with your Education Abroad Advisor to discuss important considerations and explore options together.

Module 2: Apply

Complete the appropriate application for your program. Instructions and deadlines vary. 

  • 2026–2027 SU-Sponsored & SU-Exchange Programs (Fall 2026 / Spring 2027): February 1, 2026
  • Non-SU Programs:
    • Summer 2026: March 1, 2026
    • Fall 2026: April 1, 2026
    • Spring 2027: October 1, 2026

Module 3: Prepare

EAO provides a program-specific assignment checklist with deadlines for students to complete prior to departure, such as, complete program-specific assignments, get courses approved for transfer credit, and submit your travel details

Module 4: Pre-Departure Orientation

EAO provides an online or in-person Pre-Departure Orientation to help prepare students to encounter different cultures and stay safe and healthy during their time abroad. Additional topical and identity sessions are offered during Take Flight Month in May.  

Module 5: While Abroad

EAO provides helpful reminders, resources, and ways for students to share their abroad experiences.  

Module 6: Reintegrate

EAO provides resources for returners as they adjust to life back at Seattle University, including a Welcome Home Dinner, information about future opportunities abroad post-graduation, and other ways to continue processing and articulating their abroad experiences. 

Can’t find a good fit from the SU-Sponsored/Exchange list? You may choose any accredited education abroad program not offered by Seattle University!

  • Seattle University financial aid does not apply, but federal and state aid likely do
  • There is a $1,000 fee to transfer your credits back to Seattle University
  • Submit Seattle University’s Non-SU Program application by October 1, 2025 and additional pre-departure steps.

Consult the program's website for up-to-date course listings. All SU-Sponsored, SU-Exchange, and Non-SU courses taken abroad must be approved by Seattle University Academic Departments prior to going abroad. Contact Education Abroad Office for more information about costs and application steps.

Cornish - Business & Liberal Arts

At the Anglo-American University with ISA, Cornish students can take courses in English in various fields including painting, photography, studio art, architecture, and film.

Students explore the dynamic ways in which Balinese identity and traditional arts are changing, in response to the pressures of globalization and increased Balinese engagement with global networks. With opportunities to conduct research or participate in an internship.

A wonderful selection of course offerings in English, where faculty enjoy using case study and group projects in many of their courses, with courses in fine arts, theatre, dance, architecture, design, media, film & TV, screen production, and music.
