Heat Conductivity Apparatus

The heat conductivity apparatus is designed for use with an overhead projector.

To conduct this experiment, place a little strip of wax in the notches at the end of each bar, as shown below (the pink strips are the wax) and fill the central pan with boiling water. Each rod is made of a different material, so the wax strips will melt at different times based on the heat conductivity of the rod.
