Job Description

As a general manager for AEG Presents, I oversaw venue operations at three properties in Seattle - The Showbox, Showbox Sodo, and Marymoor Park Concerts. I managed 6 full-time employees and about 100 part-time event staff, oversaw the budgets, P&Ls, and staffing for 350+ events annually, and created and maintained repair and operations budgets for the venues. While working as a General Manager at AEG, I completed the Leadership Executive MBA program at Seattle U, and through coursework like Leading Responsible Organizations and Leading Change, I rediscovered a strong interest in environmental sustainability. While at AEG Presents, I drove strategic initiatives to maximize sustainability and minimize waste within live events. My goal is to pivot my career into live event sustainability.

Company Description

AEG is the leader in sports and live entertainment. Its music division, AEG Presents, has a network of 16 regional offices that support global and regional tours throughout North America, Europe, and Asia producing and managing more than 25 music festivals, over 100 clubs and theaters, and hosting more than 15,000 shows annually.

Employment History

I have 15 years of experience in live event production and operations in venues ranging from small clubs to large 80,000+ capacity festivals including the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. I started my career in the summer of 2007 as an intern for a small club in my hometown of Knoxville, TN. After graduating with a BS in Music Business from MTSU in 2007, I worked my way up the ranks at AC Entertainment in Knoxville and Nashville, TN, then moved to Seattle for a role first as a Production Manager for AEG Presents, and was steadily promoted until I left my role as General Manager in June 2022.

Leadership Executive MBA from Seattle University - June 2022

B.S. in Music Business from Middle Tennessee State University - 2007

Mentoring Objectives & Scope

I love exchanging knowledge with others and always look forward to positive and lively discussions. I would love to discuss topics like live events, sustainability, change management, strategic planning, how to build relationships and expand your network, and act as a mentor for students who are thinking about pivoting their careers.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

I'm good with either in-person at places like coffee shops or over Zoom. I'm pretty flexible with timing, but later morning/early afternoon is usually best for me.
