Office of the Dean

The oldest and largest of Seattle University's schools and colleges, the College of Arts and Sciences builds upon and continues the traditions of Catholic and Jesuit higher education and offers a wide variety of degree programs in the humanities, social sciences, professions, and the arts. We are also proud to offer the majority of the courses Seattle University's undergraduate Core.

As our College Mission Statement affirms, the College of Arts and Sciences is "a learning community that pursues truth with academic freedom and welcomes the unique contributions of all to the common good." We are proud of the talents and successes of our students as well as the outstanding accomplishments of our 18,000 alumni around the world.

We invite you to explore this website and to learn more about our dedicated and gifted faculty and staff, our diverse and academically rigorous courses, and our commitments to global education, community service, and academic excellence.

As you read about these varied programs and about the people of the College of Arts and Sciences, should you have any questions or comments, I invite you to contact me directly at powersda@seattleu.edu. My staff and I look forward to the opportunity of responding to your message, as well as welcoming you in person.
