Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships

Students may apply for a Graduate Assistantship by including a resume with their program application.  Each position is paid $21.67/hour for 20 hours a week during the academic year. Students who meet the following minimum criteria are eligible: 

  • Acceptance into the Master of Science in Kinesiology graduate program
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Completion of required undergraduate coursework including Biomechanics,  Exercise Physiology, and Sport/Exercise Psychology or Psychology   

Graduate Assistant: Exercise Physiology
Teaching assistance for both Applied Physiology and Exercise physiology laboratory sections. This includes, but is not limited to, lab activity design, preparation, and execution of lab . Further duties may include collaboration wit research projects, where the student may have opportunities for involvement in research activities design, data collection, date interpretation, manuscript preparation, and preparation for regional and  national conferences
Additional Qualifications: Previous lab exercise physiology experience preferred.

Graduate Assistant: Motor Control/Neuromechanics
Assist with tasks related to motor control and neuromechanics, including  design, data collection, and processing and interpretation research of research data. Opportunities to contribute to manuscripts and conference presentations will be available. Teaching assistance a range of Kinesiology courses, including preparation and implementation of laboratory activities.
Additional Qualifications: Experiance or interest in teaching and/or motor control research is preferred.
