Summer Orientation is a hybrid experience that includes online tasks, virtual workshops, and in-person events on campus. We’ll send you emails and texts with updates and reminders to let you know when new tasks become available and when event sign-ups go live.

Transfer Student Orientation (in-person)

Transfer Orientation is an in-person experience for you and your family to join us on campus to learn about essential campus resources and find your flock of new friends.

Fall Welcome (in-person)

This event series consists of engagement opportunities for an exciting transition experience. Fall Welcome includes Seattle University traditions, Orientation Groups, social events, activities and community meals.

Redhawk Roundup (virtual)

Be welcomed by campus leaders and connect with fellow Redhawks from across the globe during this online session. Students are welcomed to sign up friends, families, and supporters to attend.

Fall Early Arrival

Early Bird Immersions are early arrival programs that offer new First Hill students the opportunity to come to campus and move in a few days before Fall Welcome and connect with other new students who share your passions and interests.

Optional early arrival programs with each experience focusing on a different theme, such as outdoor adventure, community service, identity exploration, and academic success.

Redhawk Roundup

A tradition you won't want to miss! Meet our Orientation team, be welcomed by campus leaders and connect with fellow Redhawks from across the globe. Students are welcomed to sign up friends, families, and supporters to attend. This event is required for all new students, email orientation@seattleu.edu if you have any questions or concerns.

Summer Virtual Events: 

  • Flock Talks: Connect with fellow new Redhawks while chatting with an Orientation Leader about your transition to college life.
  • Campus Resource Workshops: Meet with university leaders to learn about academic, financial, and support resources.
  • Student Club Socials: Meet current Redhawks to learn about clubs and organizations you can join on campus.

Yes, Redhawk Roundup is a required, virtual event for all new, incoming students. It's the first official orientation event to welcome you and your family, friends, and supporters to Seattle University as members of our community! Students will get the chance to ask questions and connect with fellow Redhawks across the state, country, and globe. Students can sign themselves up and any family or friends for the event through their Orientation Portal.

Students can sign up for virtual events in their Orientation Portal. Students can sign up any of their family, friends, or supporters for some virtual events through their orientation portal as well. 

Some virtual events, such as Flock Talks and online sessions hosted by some student clubs & organizations are for students only. This will be stated in the description of the events it pertains to.

Flock Talks and Student Club Socials are only for new students. Redhawk Roundup and Campus Resource Workshops are for new students and their parents, families, and supporters. When students sign up for Campus Partner Workshops, they can submit contact information to invite a guest to join. Sessions specifically for parents, families, and supporters will be listed on our Family and Supporters page in the summer.

We will record many of our virtual events taking place this summer. You can view the recordings on our YouTube channel, and we will also share them via email once they are posted.
