Independence of g from Mass

 

Inside the airtight tube are a bolt and a piece of foam. The foam is light enough that it is normally slowed by air resistance much more than the heavier bolt. However, if we were to try dropping these two objects while they were in a vacuum, we could observe that they both accelerate downwards at the same rate in the absence of air resistance.
