Independence of Coordinates - Hinged Stick & Falling Ball

 

At the start of this demonstration, a ball sits in a tee at the end of an inclined plank of wood, which is held up by a small hinge piece. When the hinge is kicked out, the plank falls and the ball lands in the cup, which ends up directly below where the ball started. This demonstrates the difference between linear and angular motion.
