As an instructor, intern supervisor, behavioral health clinician and case manager, Dr. Brewer’s expertise is in sexual wellness, community crisis counseling, group psychotherapy for sexual offenders, child and family psychotherapy, and gender therapy for trans clients.
Why I teach in the OCMHC program: “I teach because I genuinely care about the development and growth of each online student I encounter as they progress into caring and competent counselors. Walking with individuals on their journey while they strengthen their clinical thinking, develop cultural competence, and enhance their social awareness brings me satisfaction as it means the field and future clients will be in great hands.”

She has presented at national conferences on topics including the impact of Covid on familial units and addressing sexuality issues in counseling.
Student interest areas: Dr. Brewer particularly enjoys working with online students on research around sexual wellness, sexuality, and multiculturalism and developing diagnostic and assessment skills and comfort.
