Dr. Jennifer Albright is an adjunct professor in the criminal justice department and serves as the Deputy Chief of Administration at the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention.
Biography
Jennifer Albright, PhD, serves as the Deputy Chief of Administration at the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. Her responsibilities include supporting and guiding long range planning for the department, including population forecasting, staffing and other resource planning, contracting and quality improvement efforts. She manages a team of high-level project managers and analysts, and works closely with the Senior Management team to formulate policy and procedure for the department. Prior to serving as the Deputy Chief, Doctor Albright served as a analyst with the department where she was responsible for research and analysis supporting efforts such as development of comprehensive staffing plans, development of requirements for the department’s comprehensive Jail Management System and other County-wide initiatives.
Dr. Albright previously worked with the Seattle Police Department supporting complex policy and program analysis around use of force, crisis intervention, and staffing and response time. She was responsible for the development of business and technical requirements for a business intelligence system that supports analytics at SPD.
In 2014, Dr. Albright was appointed by Governor Jay Inslee to a position on the Washington State Sentencing Guidelines Commission where she served until 2024. She has also served as a consultant to the Cleveland Police Monitoring Team since 2017.
