Mentoring Objectives & Scope

For the past 8 years, I have mentored college students and early-career professionals on job searching, networking, interview skills, resume building, and enhancing LinkedIn profiles.

I hope that students will gain both personal insights into their own strengths and ability to recognize and navigate new opportunities. Foundationally, I can help them with the building blocks, but more importantly will help them develop the right skills to approach work. Ideally this results in them achieving their near-term career goals but it starts with building one’s own personal brand and belief in oneself to succeed long-term.

I ask that you show up for our 1:1 meetings with a clear idea of your goals for the season and for each meeting.

As a mentor, I can support students in the following:

- Resume review, interview prep, LinkedIn branding
- Career exploration, matching interests and talents with professions and industries
- Student transition from college to first professional role
- Improved communication and interpersonal skills
- Development of leadership skills, confidence, and executive presence
- Expanding a network, building connection, navigating an organization

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

Hybrid (mix of in-person and virtual) I am flexible on meeting cadence and locations. Ideally, we would meet in person but happy to accommodate some virtual sessions as appropriate. Happy to meet near or on campus or other mutually agreeable location.
