Mentoring Objectives & Scope

My primary objective as a mentor is to create a safe space for students to share their thoughts, challenges, ideas and ask questions. I believe in the mindset that “you get what you put into the experience” and thus expect my mentees to take the initiative to meet as frequently as they want to, establish agenda items and propose topics they’d like to discuss during our meetings. I meet with mentees as a group or individually based on interest and comfort level.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

Virtually and in-person, usually at a coffee shop near campus, or in downtown Bellevue.
