Job Description

As a co-founder and Managing Partner of the firm I responsible for new business development as well as the successful execution of our client's transactions. Additionally I manage all aspects of the firms internal operations.

Employment History

I have more than 20 years of investment banking experience spanning both boutique and middle market firms. I have participated in over 75 transactions including Equity & Debt Capital Raises, Mergers & Acquisitions, PIPEs and Restructurings. Prior to Co-Founding First Hill Partners I was a Director at Thomas Weisel Partners where I lead the firms efforts in the origination, structuring and execution of private placements across all industry sectors. While at Thomas Weisel Partners I served on the Private Placement commitment committee and completed numerous transactions in the Technology, Internet & New Media, Healthcare and Cleantech sectors. Before joining Thomas Weisel Partners, I was with Cascadia Capital where I was a member of the Management Committee and served as the lead private placement banker across all sectors. Prior to Cascadia, I was an investment banker with Piper Jaffray. I began my career in finance and corporate development with The Cobalt Group in Seattle.


I graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. I have a double major in Finance and Accounting.

Mentoring Objectives & Scope

I try to focus our meetings on arming my mentees with the tools and skills they will need to get the job they want after graduation.  We will discuss the importance of networking.  Why an internship is a must.  As well as the basics like improving your resume and interviewing skills.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

My schedule is flexible and I am happy to meet with students in the morning or evenings. As I live near campus I can meet students on campus or nearby.

I am the Chair of the Department of Finance's Advisory Board as well as a member of Seattle University's Board of Regents.
