About this Program
Expand Your Practice into Family Primary Care
Seattle University’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Post-Doctoral Certificate is designed for current nurse practitioners and doctoral-prepared nurses who want to expand their scope of practice into family primary care. Build on your existing advanced practice experience while developing specialized knowledge to care for individuals and families across the lifespan.
Rooted in Seattle University’s Jesuit tradition, the FNP certificate emphasizes compassionate, ethical and evidence-based practice. Through focused coursework and specialty-specific preparation, you’ll deepen your expertise in health promotion, disease prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment while preparing to pursue FNP certification.
Prepare for FNP Certification
Gain the specialized knowledge and preparation needed to pursue Family Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). The certificate prepares current nurse practitioners to expand their practice to provide primary care for patients across the lifespan.
