Seattle University strongly encourages all students to have health insurance. Beginning the 2022-23 academic year, a school-sponsored health insurance plan will no longer be available to domestic students and undergraduate students are not required to provide proof of insurance coverage. You can find more information about plans in Washington state at Washington Health Insurance | Wellness and Health Promotion | Seattle University.
For more information about the health insurance requirement for international students please go to the International Student Center health insurance page at https://www.seattleu.edu/isc/resources/health-insurance/
For students with Aetna Student If needed, request a certificate of coverage letter from Aetna Student Health which will document when your insurance plan will end. This can be requested before the policy ends.
Loss of insurance is considered a "life event" which will allow you to enroll in a new plan outside of the normal open enrollment period.
